SERVANT AUCTION TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHRIS AND EVIE JONES... funds go toward building their jungle home.

This will help you understand more about the servant auction.

Below this informational post is a list of all of the services we will be auctioning off on Monday, March 5 at 9am (in the auditorium during chapel hour... it is a LIVE auction!). There are 19 services total.

1. Each service is provided by one person or several people.

2. Each service has listed with it how many people are able to redeem the service. Some are only for 1 person, some are for 2, and some are for many. If you are interested in one that is for more than 1 person, find the people you'd like to go in on the service with before the day of the auction, and choose one person in the group to be the bidder.

3. Have a back-up plan incase you don't win the service that is your first choice! Or, just plan to spend a lot so that you do win :)

4. Typically in the past, these services mostly all go for over $50. The ones that are most popular go for over $100. Many people are surprised at their first auction and are unaware of this. We want to make you aware! If you really want to win, plan to spend more than $20 (which is what I was prepared for at my first auction... boy was I surprised!). Remember, you get a service AND the money goes toward a great cause!

5. You can pay with your student account.

6. Once you win a service, you can work out with the Servant(s) when you would like to redeem the service (unless a time is already specified).

7. You can win as many services as you would like!

Progressive Dinner with Staff

We love hanging out with the great staff of Jackson NTBI. So what could be better than hanging out with THREE staff families? When you buy this service, you will get to enjoy a progressive dinner which includes:

Appetizers with Todd and Sue Nelson (4:30pm)

Main Course with Chris and Denise Darland (5:30pm)

Dessert with James and Lisa Hatton (6:45pm)

You will get to enjoy an hour with each family before moving onto the next part of your dinner. These couples will do all of the cooking, and you will just join them at their home. This event will take place on Thursday, March 29, so make sure your calendar is free so that you can snatch this service up!

Deep Cleaning - Spring Fever Anyone?

Is your house or apartment filling with filth due to the winter, busy-ness, or children? If so, Beth Stockman is your lady! She is graciously offering her services to do your dirty work and deep clean your home! She is willing to do it all- clean your kitchen, clean your bathroom, mop your floor, vacuum your carpet... you name it! When you buy her, she'll discuss with you exactly what you'd like done, but she's chosen not to put a time limit on her services, so when she says "deep cleaning," she means it!

New Hairstyle with Bethany Potter

Bethany Potter is offering her hair services. When you buy her, you get a new haircut! Bethany has spent 19 years doing hair. She can do men, women, and even babies. She loves recreating someone who needs a change but doesn't know what they want. So if you need something new or just need a cut, she's your lady! If you buy her, you must make sure to redeem her services by the end of April, before they get busy with moving.

Car Maintenance with James and Lee

James Luyendyk and Lee Browning are more knowledgable about cars than the average Joe. When you buy them, your car will love you for the maintenance they give to it.

They can do general maintenance (talk to them if you wonder what that involves), and will give you approximately two hours of their time. Parts are not included when you buy them (customer pays for parts).... they just do the fixin'!

Lawn Care from Jon Cozart

While most of the dorm students don't need much lawn care, Jon Cozart is offering his lawn care services to any staff or students who do have a lawn in the Jackson area. Jon already has his own lawn care business, so he offers top notch service. Depending on your exact lawn needs, Jon is willing to offer up to a whole month of his lawn services. Don't let this opportunity pass you by! He will save you countless hours of mowing your lawn, and you won't have to worry about your lawn getting out of control when you take your summer vacation.

Hairbows and Fondu Girls Night Out

Girls night out! Never ending chocolate fondue, PLUS a personal tutorial on how to make hair bows…of many shapes, sizes, and kinds! Up to 4 girls can come for an evening of fun and learning with everything supplied and included! Take home whatever you can eat J (caution from the chocolate – have hips, will travel) and whatever you can make! Beth is hosting the event with the invaluable help of Jasmine!

Peter's Pixar

Have you seen some of the excellent movies that have been played to advertise Tom's Tournaments? If so, you've seen the talent that Peter has. He specializes in filming and editing movies. He is offering his services to make and edit a movie! So whether you need a movie to show to your church about your mission endeavors or would just like to make a fun movie with your friends, Peter's your director!

Tutoring with Rachael Minium

Do you need tutoring? Do you have a child who needs tutoring? Rachael Minium is offering her services for tutoring. She specializes in science, but is willing to tutor in any subject. She's willing to offer her services for anything though, so if you don't need tutoring, feel free to buy her to give you volleyball lessons, take pictures, or other services!

Car: Clean on the Inside, Clean on the Outside

John Beiler is offering to clean your car... to do both car detailing and to wash the outside! After winter, a good cleaning of the car is a must. When you buy John, he can save you some time by doing it for you! He doesn't have a time limit... he wants to give your car a good, complete cleaning! However, no 15 passenger vans please!

Dinner with the Truaxes

Tom and Julie Truax are offering a dinner for 2 people. When you buy them, you get a choice of the meal you would like! They will then plan with you a day that works, and they will prepare the meal and enjoy it with you!

CPR and First Aid Class

Have you ever wished to know how to give CPR or to provide proper first aid? This is valuable lifelong information! Manuel Marin was a CPR instructor for the Fire Dept. for years, and while he is no longer certified, he can give you all of the necessary information including the following:

CPR - Adult and Infant

-How to administer CPR to adults and infants when needed

-How to treat adults and infants when they are choking

Basic First Aid Techniques:

-Stop bleeding

-Immobilizing

-Scene Safety

-Other Issues

-Open to Questions

SWP - Skip it for a Week!

Do you ever wish you could skip your SWP for a week? Ricky Sanford and David Camacho have your back. If you buy them, they will do your SWP for one week, or for up to 3 hours (so maybe 2 weeks!). Imagine all the free time they could provide for you when you're busy at the end of the semester.

Day at the Spa with Beth Luyendyk

Spoil yourself…or your wife (Hint, hint, husbands!)…or your girlfriend…or your mom...with this awesome package including: a haircut, wax(optional – for the faint at heart), and highlights(or color) OR a full pedicure!

Babysitting with Jessica King

Need a night out? Jessica King's your lady! She has 6 years of experience with babysitting and working at a daycare, and she loves children. She would love to offer you an afternoon or night away by watching your children.

Number of People: 1 person (family) can buy her, but she will watch any amount of children.

Photography with Nicole Grazier

Memories. That's the type of service Nicole Grazier wants to offer you. She has experience with many forms of art, including photography, so if you buy her, she will do a photography session for you and then give you a disc with all of the pictures on it.

Number of People: There's not a limit to the number of people, but you can only have one outfit.

Mexican with the Marins

The Marins are offering to serve a Mexican meal for up to 6 people. Manuel and Nicole will do the cooking, their children will be the waiters, and all you have to do is come and enjoy yourself. Plus, after you enjoy your fabulous Mexican dish, you will round out the night with a Mexican movie - Nacho Libre - on the Marin's HDTV.

Rich Bruce Retreat

Let's face it... Rich Bruce is just one of those people everyone loves to hang out with. He has a lot of knowledge, experience, and he's funny! If you buy Rich Bruce, you can either take advantage of his awesomeness and hang out with him for a few hours, or you put him to work and have him do something like maintenance on your car.

Dumpster Diving Tutorial- Learn the "ins-and-outs" of Dumpster Diving

Have you had an interest in dumpster diving yet lacked the gumption or the know-how to try it out? Now's your opportunity to take a shot at this cheap thrill! Payton will take you on your own dumpster diving trip. He can't guarantee any great finds (by the nature of the beast) but after you're done, hopefully you'll know enough of the basics to take it up yourself.

A non-exhastive list of the things Payton found in the few months that Grace and he have been doing this (that's right, girls, you too can dumpster dive):

-Office supplies like staplers, 3 hole-punches, office chairs, dvd-r's, boxes of mailing envelopes, desk lamps, and all varieties of writing utensils and printer paper.
-Candy (fully packaged and hardly out of date) like cookies, Ghirardelli chocolates, and about 100lbs. of Hot Tamales/Mike n' Ikes (puts a whole new meaning to "junk food").
-Fabrics (fleece, bolts of fabric, skeins of yarn) and of other crafting supplies.
-Clothes (usually off-season type of clothing that couldn't sell due to the current season).
-Fancy candles and other type of random housewares/decorations.
-Odds and ends like books, ukuleles, a mini computer, a Santa suit, luggage, and a large mop bucket

The Butch Encounter

Buy Butch. When you buy Butch, you never know what you will get. In the past, students who have bought him have had the opportunity to talk about theological issues with him, have been taken out to lunch, and many more exciting fellowship events. Once you buy Butch, you may discuss with him what type of service you would like.
